XBURO is pleased to announce the appointment of Suze Forster (Principal / Licensee for its Property & Asset Management division) to the Safeguarding Board of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns. This volunteer appointment marks a significant commitment to the protection of children and the strengthening of safeguarding policies within the regional community.
The role offers a unique and crucial opportunity for Suze to participate in key drivers for policy reform and the ongoing improvement of child protection frameworks. Her participation on the Board will focus on informing decision-making processes that ensure the safety of children—the most vulnerable members of the community—in direct alignment with the initiatives resulting from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Suze’s appointment specifically supports the implementation of Recommendation 16.49, which mandates that codes of conduct in religious institutions must apply explicitly and equally to all personnel, including lay
people. By serving on the Board, she assists in upholding the standards detailed in the National Code of Conduct, Integrity in Our Common Mission, which seeks to foster a "culture of care, compassion and safety".
"I am deeply honoured and humbled to be of service to the Cairns community in this capacity," said Suze. "Providing a safe environment for all children is a vital mission, and I am committed to contributing to the reforms that ensure their protection and wellbeing."
Suze’s decision to accept this responsibility was strongly encouraged by XBURO, an organisation deeply committed to community service, and led by Founder and Managing Director Andy Bradley, who promotes a workplace culture of "giving back" to team members throughout the organisation’s four offices, as evidenced through various high-impact initiatives, including:
Strategic Partnership with the Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club.
Strategic Partnership with the Property Industry Foundation since 2022.
Support to the Lady Musgrave Trust for the construction of new shelter homes.
Sponsorship of the NAIDOC Week for several Queensland football clubs.
Ongoing support for several local Queensland football clubs.
Sponsorship of female golf in the UK
Through this appointment, XBURO continues its tradition of leadership by example, supporting its team members as they dedicate their expertise to vital social cause
